Nullstone Rod

This simple rod of dull black stone can absorb magical energy. When wielded, it can held defensively, interception incoming single-target spells in your forward arc. It can absorb a maximum of 10 mana per spell, and 50 mana overall. The mana may be drawn upon while wielding the rod to power your own spells. Once 50 mana has been stored, no further mana will be absorbed; once 50 mana has been spent, the rod disintegrates. It is also possible to shatter the rod, instantly releasing all stored energy in a cataclysmic blast. Do so at your own risk.
